am i alright?

track 3 on "what was it called again?"

"am i alright?" is the fourth track off of our debut album "what was it called again?"

lyrics

what do you expect me to say when theres a rifle pointed at my brain
in the form of compulsions written by the big man that determines what sort of life i plan
go work in an office and sit down all day if thats your version of success then thats okay
just please don't try to force your beliefs on me or any other lad who'd like to be free

so widen your eyes and say goodbye to every single fucker thats surrounded by lies
they'll tell you ya can't they'll say that you'll die when their attempts of getting you end up futile
well imagine if you could get out of here i’m not sure if it will make your problems disappear
but it's well worth a try when you're in bed at night and you're laying thinking to yourself "am i alright?"

now what is it that you really want would it make you happy if it wasn’t a stunt
an elaborate plan to make you conform to make you never ever step outside of the norm
it’s just one of those things to make you confused and scared to ever have a proper look at the news
just don’t ever forget how it is now and how nothing else will ever be allowed

so widen your eyes and say goodbye to every single fucker thats surrounded by lies
they'll tell you ya can't they'll say that you'll die when their attempts of getting you end up futile
well imagine if you could get out of here i’m not sure if will make your problems disappear
but it's well worth a try when you're in bed at night and you're laying thinking to yourself "am i alright?"

so widen your eyes and say goodbye to every single fucker thats surrounded by lies
they'll tell you ya can't they'll say that you'll die when their attempts of getting you end up futile
well imagine if you could get out of here i’m not sure if will make your problems disappear
but it's well worth a try when you're in bed at night and you're laying thinking to yourself "am i alright?"

about this track

mad how quickly this one became political while songwriting. it was originally about
how the school system in england fucking sucks but it evolved into whatever it is now,
and honestly i couldn't say what it's about now because i wrote it by
just coming up with whatever words came into my head and sounded funny.
